hello peeps.

today was the pre-event day for heal the earth. so basically, we went there and did couple of things plus got some important info tmr. if you dont read here, its your own problem if you dont know what to do tmr.

there are some things which i need to clarify:
1. since only nilar replied her attendance, i wouldnt bother to claim cip hours for you guys who didnt reply. how to claim? find out yourself. for ppl who attended both today and tmr, you are entitled 20 hours of cip and for ppl who attended tmr only, you would be entitled 8 hours of cip only. not sure why.
2. according to the person in charge, shuttle bus would be available from 6am at the usual shuttle bus pick up point. so ppl, PLEASE DONT WALK THERE! its very far from the mrt station and that there are plenty of domitories area around the place.
3. for ppl who didnt attend the pre-event today, you would be getting your t-shirt only tmr and attendance for you guys would be taken tmr. ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT! NO ATTENDANCE/CONFIRMATION OF PRESENSE AFTER THE EVENT WHEN THEY TAKE ATTENDANCE = NO CIP HOURS AND NO CERTIFICATES!
4. think that most of the S size shirt are given out today. only few remains! and its damn big. it almost resembles standard chartered marathon M-L size tee! so dont be greedy and just get the smallest size tee available tmr!
5. RVHS NPCC is grouped under the registration crew. ppl who didnt turn up today arent grouped! so do make sure you tell the person your school and ask for your roles tmr. most likely, if you tell them your school, i think they will group you will the RVHS NPCC.
6. lunch would be catered at around 12 plus. we would be split into batches for lunch. for milo lovers, their drink is MILO!
7. all volunteers are entitled free lunch, free event tee, certificate of participation as volunteer along with CIP hours, certificate of participant as record-breakers for singapore's largest painting done. as for goodie bag, im not sure though :/
8. REPORTING TIME TMR IS 7am at marina barrage!

Hello everyone!

For those who signed up for the Heal the Earth CIP, please attend the pre-event day activity if you can make it. Since we all didnt turn up for the briefing as we had RV carnival, its better to go for the pre-event day and clarify any doubts you have with the person in charge tmr. For people who doesnt know how to get to the place:

1. take mrt to marina bay station. then, from the mrt station
2. take either shuttle service to marina barrage at 1245 if you are going tmr. (board at bus stop A and alight from bus stop B)

if you are going only on the actual day, please take train to marina bay and walk all the way as there isnt any shuttle bus services or buses available so early. :/

Im not sure about all the details as i also missed the briefing D: but according to its official page on facebook, it says: t-shirts would be issued tmr which is pre-event day, along with grouping and tasking for the event day. so its very important for people to attend the pre-event day!!!! so pls pls pls go! though i know everyone is busy!

Lastly, will all the people who signed up for heal the earth sms me to confirm whether you are turning up on both days or just the actual event day? this is to keep track of cip hours for everyone of you and also, to da-bao information for ppl who cant make it tmr so that you wouldnt be blur blur that day! this is for y0ur own good so SMS me!!!! thank you!

WHAT: HEAL THE EARTH 2010 is the first of its kind, green gathering for Singaporeans. It is organized with the belief that everyone should step forward and hold the responsibility of healing this earth; walking our thoughts, together we can make the difference. By coming together, we can educate and raise the awareness amongst Singaporeans on the importance of going green. This helps to promote and cultivate green habits to be practiced in our everyday life, creating a positive impact to our health and environment.

Through this event, we hope to provide a platform for Singaporeans to learn more on environmental issues and green philosophies; government agencies, local green groups, educational institutions and corporations will be there to showcase their products/services and green initiatives.



WHEN: 18th December 2010, 9am – 5pm

WHERE: Padang, Singapore

WHY: Have fun and part of breaking the Singapore Book of Record! All volunteers are entitled to a free event tee-shirt, goodie bag and certificate of appreciation.



Duties will be allocated on the briefing day – one week before the event.

- Packing of goodie bags

- Ushers during the human logo formation

- Collection of admission tickets and tearing of ticket studs

Being responsible, I have worked out the below chalet stuff...



Below are the details for the budget.



For the whole chalet, we have a budget of $13 x 38 = $494



For main chalet we need $198 so we are left wit $296.



The bbq night budget is settled by the bbq team and will cost $150.



The rest will be for food, that will be $146. Meanwhile the people in charge of food are working on it.



First night will likely be instant noodles night.



While subsequent meals will be based on what you want! ( Some people will be cooking so do watch out! There will be a survey showing the menu, and you can choose what you want)



For other cost such as when you want to go Escape or movie etc. You are to fork out your own money:D



Thats basically all regarding the budget issue.

EXAMS ARE OVER :D so people are very free now, and now, we shall start our class chalet plans! ^^ ok. but before that, HAND IN THE BIRTHDAY CARDS!!!!!!!!!!

so this time round, instead of just a few deciding and planning everything, lets get the whole class involve! basically, everyone would be split up into groups and each of the group would be incharge of its own area. so there are 4 groups:

Adminstrative
- tally attendance and book chalet on the date after discussing with the whole class
- be incharge of collecting money for costs of chalet booking
- determine budget for every events (being tresurers)
- inform the whole class about the dates, attendance, venue, as well as a rough schedule for each day.
- inform the class of things-to-bring for chalet
- confirm with bbq team about the number of people attending bbq and also the date for bbq
- other things which you can think of

BBQ event
- catering of food for the event
- asking budget and attendance for the event
- to carry the food or order delivery(if you have spare budget) from the place
- try not to order too much food
- anything else in bbq event

Food
- buy or plan something to settle our classmates stomachs!
- to take care of utensils, plates etc if needed
- buy mineral water etc...
- are you going to cook something for the class?

Recreation
- plan games for class bonding
- do bring movies so that whole class can watch:D
- remind class to bring cards or things that can play
- check if the chalet has DVD player etc...
- is the class going to swim? if yes, ask class to bring swimsuits

ok. so thats roughly the plan. as for groupings, most likely, you would be working with people close to you, so that things can be done better. if you have any preference to be in any group, tell me. for groupings, we will decide later:D

most importantly,
a survey link would be posted so to ask the class about their opinions on chalet!
